"Audrey is passionate, thorough, persistent and always focused on the audience for whatever piece she’s writing. I wish every writer I worked with had her chops, commitment and careful attention to detail and deadlines...”
Neil Pond, former VP/editor-in-chief AMERICAN PROFILE, now
editor of PARADE

"I sold my first article for publication at age 15... and I’ve been at it ever since!"
I hold a B.S. degree in journalism/mass communications from Virginia Commonwealth University. I’m a member of ASJA (The American Society of Journalists and Authors), the leading national organization of independent nonfiction writers who have met ASJA’s exacting standards of professional achievement. My work has earned over two dozen awards via Virginia Press Women and/or The National Federation of Press Women, where I’m also a member.
I’m married and live with my husband and “dog daughter” in Virginia. I love the beach, dogs, reading, travel, music, film noir/classic films and classic television.
I’m an award-winning writer whose work has appeared in numerous publications, including American Profile, The Saturday Evening Post, BJ’s Journal, Woman’s World, Writer’s Digest, Boomer, Cooperative Living, numerous trade magazines/custom publications and many more. Sample some of my work on the Articles pageof this website.
With Keith Thibodeaux, I co-authored Life After Lucy, The True Story of “I Love Lucy’s” Little Ricky (New Leaf Press). I was also a Contributing Writer for Christian Parenting Answers (David C. Cook Publishing Company). See Books page of this website.
My writing is a mixed bag of profiles, interviews, music, business, travel, health, consumer service, essays/columns and general interest features. I’ve interviewed neurologists about the brain’s complexities, discussed the impact of Lyme disease with Lyme sufferers and chatted with Vince Gill & Amy Grant in their Nashville home. I’ve been dazzled by pinball wizards at Las Vegas’ Pinball Hall of Fame, enjoyed a private tour of California’s Mt. Whitney portal with Loren Janes (the late Steve McQueen’s stunt double) and toured Historic Jamestowne with archaeologist/author Dr. Bill Kelso, who first unearthed fragments of the 1607 James Fort at Historic Jamestowne, the original site where America’s first colonists settled.
I love taking offbeat approaches to familiar topics and looking for fresh angles. I’m a news junkie, love research and you’ll seldom find me without a book or magazine in hand.
